David races a 1968 Ford Torino for Team Roadkill in the Club Clash series Hot Rod class. The Torino is powered by a 390 cubic inch, C6 transmission combination that always overpowers the rear tires. The result is tire smoke through the 60 foot line. The car has run as quick as 16.13, but much quicker ET's are anticipated once David gets the car to hook up. Even with the consistency problems that loss of traction brings, David still won several rounds of racing for Team Roadkill. |

Modifications to the Torino include Hooker headers and dual exhaust, a vintage factory Ford Holley carburator originally on a 428 CJ Mustang, Edelbrock intake manifold and Mallory ignition. The C6 transmission was recently rebuilt by 2TON Racing and includes heavy duty B+M components, and a TCI Street Fighter torque converter. The 2TON overhauled 9" rear end is equipped with a factory limited slip differential and 3.89:1 gears. Plans for the Torino include an engine overhaul (More Power!) and sticky tires. |

During the course of the 2006 season, the Torino was almost completely disassembled, bodywork was done, and the car was repainted. The engine was removed and detailed at the same time. All of the chrome was removed from the car and the front clip and doors were also pulled. The result is a car that looks great from any distance. The entire job, from start to finish, was performed by 2ton, Bondo, and their families in 22 days. The job was timed so that David did not miss a single race due to downtime.
